Former Poly basketball standout Judith Smith passes away at 25

Judith Smith, an All-American point guard who helped lay the ground work of state and national success for Poly’s girls basketball program, passed away last week at the far-too-young age of 25. According to Poly coach Carl Buggs, Smith was found dead in her sleep Thursday by family members in Long Beach. Buggs said an autopsy revealed she died of heart failure.
