Extra-base hits sink Montebello in second-round loss

MONTEBELLO – The Montebello High School baseball team’s best postseason run in years came to an end thanks to the power of visiting Beckman of Irvine. The Pacific Coast League champion Patriots (22-6) slammed three homers and a total of six extra-base hits in a 4-1 victory over the host Oilers in Tuesday afternoon’s second round of the CIF-Southern Section Division 3 playoffs.
