  1. I will agree with their lawers comments. Remember that it's all in the wording of the report. Either you murdered someone or you were following your training and protecting yourself or others.

  2. Why there is NO video of what happened inside Costco? It looks like the police department, is hiding something. Why he had to shoot the whole family? They should charge the off-duty policemen with murder, and two attempt murders. Well, that's if the parents of the deceased, don't die too. Believe me, if the cop was the one who got shot, there will be 20 videos, showing the shooter, and what happened inside the store??? This smells very fishy!!!

  9. Let's wait for the investigation to finish before blaming anyone. Detectives will not only look at surveillance video but also Kenneth French and whether he had a history of violence.

  15. This LAPD Cop won’t be a Cop once the investigation is done (Department policy violation). If it was a justifiable shooting, LAPD & Corona PD would have released this within days, just like all the other Officer involved shootings with body cams. Now its time for a Grand Jury to hear this and decide if there is enough evidence to charge this off duty officer.

  16. Even not knowing all facts, cops are supposed to de-escalate not reach for a gun to offset a push/hit. He would have been (at most) justified to punch back or taser the guy. Instead he murdered (likely) two and seriously wounded one for a push/hit (depending on what story was told that night). Any civillian would be in jail with no bail. This p o s gets a desk and pay while his own 'investigate.'

  23. The 'open handed push' that French did on the off duty police officer may have been to push him out of the way, so French could get to the food sampler, and since the officer was holding on to his 18 month son, could have slipped in the same direction French pushed him with a slip, and fall to the concrete floor, whereby momentary losing consciousness. Once the officer awoke, French's father may have been trying to explain that his son was mentally disabled, and off his meds, where the officer may have believed the father was lying to cover for his son's drug use. The officer may have saw the mother trying to escort French away from the scene, where the officer stated he was a police officer, with no response coming from French, and his mother, then thought his, and his son's life was in immediate danger took out his gun, and shot French, and wounding the mother, then shoot the father for possibly trying to physically trying to stop the officer. It should be noted the attorney for the officer, David Winslow, Galipo said he's been told the officer identified himself as a policeman before he shot," however, not saying whether there was an argument before the shooting, as some witness's have said. – Costco has allowed for a perfect storm of evil to occur by allowing mentally disabled people intermingling with customers, and should be held responsible for this possibly, terrible no-fault tragedy.
